AISI 440A UNS S44002 Martensitic Stainless Steel Bars and plates
It is a high-chromium martensitic stainless steel with higher quenching hardness than 20Cr13 (2Cr13). In the quenched and tempered condition, it possesses high strength and hardness, combined with rust and corrosion resistance. It is widely used for cutting tools and wear-resistant components, but it is difficult to machine and requires professional equipment.
Applications of UNS S44002
It is generally used to manufacture wear and corrosion-resistant components requiring rust resistance or resistance to corrosion by dilute oxidizing acids, organic acids, and salts, such as cutting tools, measuring tools, shafts, rods, valves, and hooks.
