D2 1.2379 SKD10 Cold Work Tool Steel Bars and Plates
D2 is an optimized version of Cr12MoV, with enhanced molybdenum and vanadium content, offering superior overall performance. It features high hardenability, high quenching hardness, and excellent wear resistance, as well as good high-temperature oxidation resistance and minimal distortion during heat treatment. However, it has poor machinability and higher production costs.
Applications of D2
Primarily used in high-end cold forming processes that demand stringent requirements for wear resistance, precision, and service life. Suitable for manufacturing various high-precision, long-life cold-working dies, cutting tools, and measuring instruments, such as complex-shaped punching dies, cold extrusion dies, thread-rolling wheels, threading plates, cold shearing blades, and precision measuring tools, among others.
