9Cr18MoV UNS S44003 AISI 440B Martensitic Stainless Steel Bars and Plates
It is a high-carbon and high-chromium martensitic stainless steel with vanadium (V) added based on 9Cr18Mo (similar to the improved type of 440C). Through grain refinement by vanadium carbides, it further improves hardness, wear resistance and thermal stability, while maintaining good corrosion resistance. However, its weldability is extremely poor, and strict preheating and post-weld heat treatment are required.
Applications of 9Cr18MoV
9Cr18MoV features superior wear and corrosion resistance for precision anti-corrosion components.
- Tool manufacturing: It is commonly used to manufacture all kinds of tools, such as mechanical cutting tools, shearing tools and surgical blades, etc.
- Bearing manufacturing: It can be used to manufacture products under high-speed rotation and high load conditions, such as bearing rings and rolling elements.
- Mechanical components: It is suitable for manufacturing mechanical components that require corrosion resistance, high strength and wear resistance, such as shafts, rods, springs and fasteners, etc.
- Medical device: Because of its outstanding corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, it can be used to manufacture medical devices such as surgical instruments and dental instruments, etc.
- Chemical equipment: In chemical equipment, it is used to manufacture components that can withstand corrosive media, such as pumps and valves, etc.
