1.4731 Martensitic Stainless Steel Bars and plates
It is a chromium-silicon-molybdenum martensitic valve steel, used after quenching and tempering. It contains molybdenum and silicon, and has creep resistance as well as excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance—its oxidation resistance is higher than that of 40Cr13 (4Cr13). In the environment of 750-800°C, it can form a dense and stable oxide film to effectively resist high-temperature oxidation attack, while also having high high-temperature strength and good hot strength.
Applications of 1.4731
In the automotive industry, it is often used to manufacture heat-resistant components of exhaust systems, such as exhaust manifolds, which can withstand the continuous scouring of high-temperature exhaust gas discharged from engines; in the field of machinery manufacturing, it is suitable for manufacturing high-temperature components such as boiler superheaters and nozzles.
